"THE PUB THAT FLOODS"
The Boat Inn Jackfield with it's history of severe flooding and it's now famous "Flood Door" marker has been the subject of many photographs.
We would like to share with you some non-flood photos and a history spanning from 1700's industry to WW11 local headquarters to Cool Gig venue of the millenium. This beloved landmark pub situated in an all but forgotten corner of the birthplace of industry is a testament to nature and the will of man to preserve her.

Ironbridge Gorge
Telford TF8 7LS
Shropshire
Tel: 01952 884483
Situated at possibly the lowest point of the Ironbridge Gorge Valley and a little Tricky to find at the end of a bit of a bumpy road due to the inherent landslip geology of the Gorge but we think it's worth it!
Coalport is across the river from us, access by footbridge,
Broseley, Madeley and Ironbridge are all within walking distance.
Places of interest along the way in Jackfield are, The Tile Museum and The Maws Craft Center. In Coalport there are the Coalport China Museum and The Tar Tunnel.
Madeley has the Blists Hill Victorian Town.
MEMORIAL BRIDGE connects Jackfield to Coalport for walkers.
ENJOY YOURSELF! Just imagine sitting by the river surrounded by trees, a great pint of Real Ale in one hand and a Home-made Burger and Chips at the ready........ That's The Boat!
